Rechthoekige toelichting: 'Based on Bas Oudt' 2009 This book is based on the work of Amsterdam based graphic designer Bas Oudt. It is initiated by 8 of his former students, all graphic designers today. Each of them developed a new work based on whatever they learned from or associate with Oudt. My task was to photograph a selection Bas Oudts own works, as well as various of his extensive collections of objects. My approach is a rather 'performative' one; I am browsing through the material in front of the camera, trying to analize hidden paralles between works and collected items playfully. The printed matter which is depicted in the series is legible, so the viewer is invited to browse along..
